James “J.J.” Jackson

James “J.J.” Jackson, 55, fell asleep in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at UTMB Hospital in Galveston. J.J. as he is lovingly called by family and friends was raised in Galveston, and attended school in Galveston I.S.D. James enjoyed cooking, and singing in various local bands.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jackson. He leaves to cherish the memories of his life with his parents, Eloise Jackson, and J. C. Parhms (Billie Ruth); sons, Scharazar Jackson, James E. Jackson, Jr.; daughters, Nicole Jackson, Wanda Jackson; sisters: Delores Houston; Alice M. McGriff, and Jacque Fields; step brother, Richard A. Smith (Paulette); nephews, Barry J. Hysaw, Dwayne Houston (Norma), Lionel Fields, Corey Houston; nieces, Jennifer Davis, Lela Fields; 9 great nieces; 1 great-great nephew. James also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Jerusalem Baptist Church followed by a service celebrating his life at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. A. S. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
