Emil Doreck
Emil Doreck, 81, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at a Denton hospital. Emil Herbert Doreck was born June 9, 1927, in Galveston, the eldest of four children born to the late Emil Rupert and Emma Neimeyer Doreck. Emil honorably served his country as a T3 in the United States Army during World War II in the Philippines. He worked hard his entire life and could diagnose car problems just by looking at the car. His hobby was tinkering with just about anything. Emil loved to barbecue and was, in fact, quite good at it. He was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Galveston. His heart was as good as gold. Emil was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Norman and Herbie Doreck. Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Jessie Doreck of Flower Mound; daughters, Debra Ann Mayo and Jayne Fuller, both of Houston, Paula Henderson and husband, Mike, of Alvin, and Deborah Lee Vollert and husband, Matthew, of Flower Mound; son, Marvin Rutledge and wife, Barbara, of Corpus Christi; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalind Lemire of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
