MOBILE MENTAL HEALTH UNIT 

The Gulf Coast Center and University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) have established a Mobile Mental Health Unit on Galveston Island.  The unit is staffed with UTMB and Gulf Coast Center physicians.  In addition, nurses, counselors, case managers, and support staff from MHMR are also available to assist people in need.  The unit is currently located at the Community Service Center at 4700 Broadway.  Current patients of MHMR and UTMB can access mental health services at this location.  Anyone in need of mental health services can call 409-763-2373.  Those that do not have transportation can seek assistance from the MHMR mobile outreach team.
 
The Gulf Coast Center will keep crisis counselors available at this location as long as services are needed.
