Eva Mae Smith-Turner

GALVESTON- Eva Mae Smith-Turner, 55, entered her blessed journey on May 1, 1953. She was the 7th child of Alphonse Sincere and Beulah Beafneux, here on Galveston Island. She departed this life on September 8, 2008. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

She was a loving housewife to James Grant Turner, Jr., her loving and devoted husband of 27 years. She also leaves to cherish memories, three children: Jeffery Smith, Sr. (Kellie) of Galveston, TX; Joseph Smith (Charita) of Bunkie, LA, and Rachel Smith of Garland, TX; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Connie Coleman and Beulah Hall; four brothers: David Sincere; Richard Sincere; Alphonse Sincere and Robert Johnson; three brothers in law: Raymond Turner; Alfred Turner, and Louis “Joe” Turner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11 AM on Friday, October 3, 2008, followed by a service celebrating her life at 1:00 PM at the Avenue L Baptist Church (2616 Avenue L) with Rev. Michael Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers is Anthony Jones, Al Murray, Andre King, Zach Larnette, Curtis Turner and Ray Mays.

The family would like to give special thanks to the MICU staff of UTMB and the Davita Dialysis Clinic of Galveston.
