Galveston
- Rogelio G. Quintanilla, age 88 of Galveston passed from this life on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Cornerstone Hospital of Austin, Texas. Funeral services are 10:00 am Friday, October 3, 2008 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque with Monsignor Culver officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. The family will receive visitors at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 I-45 North in Texas City on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm.
Mr. Quintanilla was born January 24, 1920 in Mercedes, Texas. He was the owner and operator of “The Taco House” Restaurant in Galveston for over 48 years a tradition his son Pete carries on today. Mr. Quintanilla was a longtime resident of Galveston where he and his late wife Victoria raised their family. He was a member of Reina de la Paz Catholic Church in Galveston.
Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Victoria Mancha Quintanilla, survivors include daughters, Mary Granger and husband Charles, Dolores Mendoza and husband Jesse, and Gloria Y Perkins Quintanilla; sons, Judge Roy Quintanilla and wife Betty, Jose Quintanilla and wife Norma, and Pedro G. Quintanilla and wife Celia, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers are Pedro Quintanilla, Jose Quintanilla, Roy Quintanilla, Donnie D. Quintanilla, Roy Denver Quintanilla, and Pete Quintanilla, Jr.
Mr. Quintanilla will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
