Barbara Loujean Boren, of Galveston, TX, born July 22, 1935, passed from this earth to be with our Heavenly Father on Oct. 12, 2008. Barbara was a longtime employee of Wal-Mart in Galveston. She was a loving daughter, sister and mother. We all love and miss her.
She is preceded in death by her father, William G. Wilkins and her sister, Shirley V. Wilkins.
She is survived by her mother, Pearl V. Wilkins of League City, TX; daughter, Debra Landry of Galveston, TX; sons: Jack C. Ryan Jr. & wife Tammy of Spring, TX; Thomas L. Boren of Galveston, TX; and William E. Boren & wife Tammy of Decherd, TN; grandchildren: Kenneth L. Coleman, Christopher A. Pepper, Marcus L. Ryan, Diane M. Ryan, Brittny A. Boren, Thomas C. Boren, Cassie Boren, Amanda Cartwright, Joseph Moore, and Robert Colbert; brother, William D. Wilkins & wife, Mary of Anahuac, TX; sisters: Mary Ellis & husband, Jeff of Galveston, TX; Judy Herrington & husband, Charlie of Santa Fe, TX; and many more family and friends.
Barbara’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15th, at Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 16th, at Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe with Father John Bok, OFM, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth L. Coleman, Christopher A. Pepper, William D. Creel, William W. Wilkins, Christopher R. Gibson, and Thomas C. Boren. William D. Wilkins will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
