BASF presents donations to Brazosport Health and Education Foundations
Company continues recognizing 50th anniversary with community donations
FREEPORT – In honor of its 50th anniversary this year, BASF’s Freeport site has designated several key organizations in the community to receive special $5,000 charitable donations, including Brazosport Health Foundation and Brazosport Education Foundation.
“BASF’s had a steadfast commitment to this community and to helping its organizations who provide valuable services to area residents,” said Art Colwell, Vice President and General Manager of BASF’s Freeport site. “In recognition of our 50th anniversary, we wanted to go above and beyond our normal charitable giving with special contributions to select nonprofit organizations.”
Each of the chosen organizations will receive an additional $5,000 contribution. Colwell recently presented the donations to Brazosport Health Foundation and Brazosport Education Foundation. He was joined by Sharon Rogers, a recent BASF retiree who also serves on the board of each organization.
The remaining eight recipient organizations will be announced during the fourth quarter as BASF’s Freeport site wraps up its 50th anniversary celebrations.
BASF’s Freeport site employs 650 employees and 275 contractors. Chemicals produced at the site are used in a wide range of product applications, including adhesives, paints and coatings, superabsorbents, nylon and plastics.
