Alicia G. MartinezAlicia G. Martinez, 79,  of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Mainland Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, October 27, at St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, October 26, at Bay Area Funeral Parlor with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Martinez was born June 21, 1929 in Stafford, Texas. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel C. Martinez and her son John Michael Martinez; five brothers: Pedro, Santos, Magarito, Lee and Victor Guerrero; four sisters: Stephanie Arriaga, Dolores Martinez, Frances Guerrero and Herlinda Melendez; and granddaughter, Melanie Vargas.

Survivors include her sons; Joe Manuel Martinez and wife, Zenida, Angel Martinez and wife Estella, and Frank R. Martinez and wife Sara; daughters Rachael M. Vargas and Alice Martinez; brother Balde Guerrero; and grandchildren; Joe A Martinez, Jenny Richmond, Gabriel Martinez, Stephanie Martinez, Michael Martinez, Angel Martinez, Jr., Doniscia Garcia, Jessica Vargas, Christopher Martinez; Joshua Martinez, Andre Martinez, Sophia Martinez and Savannah Bird.

Pallbearers are Joshua Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Richard Garcia, Pete Guerrero, Jr. Ponci Guerrero and Ray Guerrero.
