BASF presents special donations to Chamber of Commerce
and County Historical Museum
FREEPORT – BASF’s Freeport site is continuing to make special $5,000 donations to community organizations in honor of the site’s 50th anniversary. Most recently, contributions were presented to Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce and Brazoria County Historical Museum.
In making the donations, Art Colwell, Vice President and General Manager of BASF’s Freeport site, said by contributing to organizations that provide important services, BASF is able to thank the local community for the support it has provided the company for more than 50 years.
“The objective of the Chamber of Commerce is to move the greater Brazosport Area forward, while the museum is focused on honoring and preserving Brazoria County’s past – both very important activities to our local area,”
said Colwell. “We are proud to provide these special donations.”
In addition to the Chamber of Commerce and museum, BASF has also made special contributions to Brazosport Health Foundation and Brazosport Education Foundation. A total of 10 nonprofit organizations will receive special donations from the company. The remaining six organizations will be announced during the fourth quarter as BASF’s Freeport site wraps up its 50 th anniversary celebrations.
BASF’s Freeport site employs 650 employees and 275 contractors. Chemicals produced at the site are used in a wide range of product applications, including adhesives, paints and coatings, superabsorbents, nylon and plastics.
