Henry James Venters

Henry James VentersHenry James Venters, 74, departed this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Webster, TX.

Henry was born December 16, 1933, in Navasota, TX to the union of Henry, Sr.and Ellan Venters.

He attended Galveston Public School and was formerly employed with Southwest Cotton Compress, and also cooked at various restaurants.

He was preceded in death by his, parents; daughter, Vanessa Siverand; one brother, and three sisters.

He leaves with cherish memories, wife Doris Venters (Walter); devoted sons, Norris Venters (Debra); Douglas Venters (Angela); Ernest Wells, and Little Henry; daughters, Dora  Venters (Mike), and Kathy Venters (Tony); sisters, Shirley Fields (Lionel), and Georgia Davis; brothers, Willie McNeil (Alice); Charles McNeil (Linda), and Tommy McNeil; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; very devoted companion, Martina “Co-Co” Speaker; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Goliday.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Monday, November 3, 2008, followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Avenue L Baptist Church with Rev. Norris D. Burkley, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
