Donnie Keller

Donnie Keller, 77, passed away November 9, 2008 surrounded by her loving family.  Donnie was born December 29, 1930 in Galveston, Texas.  She was a lifelong Galveston resident.  Donnie loved people, good food and spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed following the Houston Astros and Houston Texans.  She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Serbian Orthodox Church.  Donnie was a devoted wife, loving step-mother, step-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.


Donnie was preceded in death by her husband Roy Keller; parents, Radovan and Ljubica Kesel; brothers Custer Kesel, Alex Kesel , Robert Kesel, John Kesel, Louis Kesel, Billy Kesel and Dan Kesel; and sisters Dolores Plummer and Natalie Criss.


Survivors include her step-daughter, Janice Conway and husband Randy;  step-granddaughter, Traci Trull and husband Danny, sister, Bernice Mills; nieces, Sammie Lanningham, Jeanette Soler and husband Morris, Debra Criss and Denise Graham and husband Jeff; Joila Botello, Robbie Dahn , Kristi Britt, Lynn Garibaldi, Michelle Profitt, Stephanie Criss, nephews Billy Kesel and wife Susan, William Criss and wife Betty, Custer Kesel Jr., Brian Keller and wife, Joelee Marullo, Steven Mills, Bobby Kesel, Charlie Kesel, James Kesel, Jason Rodriguez, William Criss III; cousin Donna Townsend, and numerous cousins, great nieces and great nephews and friends.


Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Serbian Orthodox Church (41st and Avenue L, Galveston).  A Pomen service will begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday.  The Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the church.  Burial will follow at Sts. Constantine and Helen Cemetery (61st Street, Galveston).  The services will be officiated by Father Serge Veselinovich .


Donations may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Serbian Orthodox Church or Sts. Constantine and Helen Cemetery fund.


The family would like to thank the staff at Mainland Medical Center, and Dr. Robin Armstrong, Dr. John Lewis and Dr. Joseph Prince.  A special thank you to Dr. Angela Shepherd, her personal physician.


Pallbearers will be, Morris Soler, Bubba Koehler, Joe Lee Marullo, Custer Kesel Jr., Michael Botello, and Jason Rodriguez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Jennings, Steven Mills, Bill Orange, Richard Roller, Bronko Gligaric, and Brian Keller.
