Albert Daniel Mosley

Albert Daniel Mosley was born January 23, 1926 in Galveston, Texas to the union of the late Dewey and Viola Brown Mosley. He was a 1944 graduate of Central High School. He served in the U.S. Navy 3 years after graduation. He was employed as a longshoreman with ILA Local #2. Albert later started working with the Galveston Police Department, where he retired as a Detective Sergeant after 37 years of service. He was also a lifetime member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church. Albert departed this life on November 3, 2008 at Marshall Manor Care Center in Marshall, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Franklin Mosley; three sisters, Eldora Mitchell, Bertha Allen, Ella Faye Mosley; daughter, Alberta Mosley Jones; stepson, Ronald K. Adams.
Left to cherish his memories: His wife, Geneva Mosley; three daughters, Viola, Phyllis, Rachel; five grandchildren, Jolice Mosley, Dwayne Frenchwood, Daniel Marcel, Deandray Marcel, Montrel Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Datanaia, A’ Brianna, Jazzlyn; siblings, J.D. Mosley of Rayne, LA, Lionel Mosley of Monterey, CA, Annie McBeth, Arthur Mosley, Betty Thomas, Flora Bell Thomas of Galveston, TX; sister in law, Alma Bailey; brothers in law, Charles Sneed, Joseph Sneed, James Sneed; special friends, Charles Lemmons, Andrew Laws, Ray B. Jones; playmate and cousin, George White of Kentucky.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 13, 2008 followed by a service celebrating his life at 11:00 am at Avenue L Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Billips of the Shiloh A.M.E. Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
