Commissioner Garcia to Join Santa in Ferry Lighting
Harris County Precinct Two Commissioner Sylvia R. Garcia will be joined by Santa Claus in the annual lighting of the historic Lynchburg Ferry on the Monday night following Thanksgiving. The event is sponsored by the engineering firm of Bury & Partners. Refreshments will be provided by The Monument Inn and handed out by volunteers from The Pilot Club of Highlands. Photos with Santa will be provided courtesy of Portraits of Texas. “This year’s event will be extra special because more of the community is coming together to make this annual celebration bigger and better,” Garcia said. “We hope to see lots of families as this will also be an opportunity for photos with Santa.” The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the actual lighting immediately following sunset. The Robert E. Lee High School jazz band and the Cloverleaf Elementary School Choir will provide entertainment. The event is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1st at the North Landing of the Lynchburg Ferry which is located at 1001 Independence Parkway (formerly 1001 S Lynchburg Road).
