Robert Otto RourkeRobert O. Rourke, 74, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Manor Care Center in Webster, Texas.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 22nd, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Bok, OFM, as Celebrant.

Robert was a native Galvestonian and graduated from Kirwin High School around 1951.  Robert enjoyed sharing his love for team sports with youth. He served as Little League Football Coach for Memorial Ashford 1970-1974. He loved football and was a big UT football fan.  He was an avid duck and goose hunter.  Robert loved his family the most out of everything in the world and loved his dog, Blu.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Rourke; his parents, Walter and Mary Rourke; his brothers Jimmy, Johnny, Joe, and Walter Rourke Jr.; and his sister Mildred Demack.

He leaves behind sons Robbie Rourke,  Louis Marx and wife Sylvia Marx, and daughter Stacie Rourke. The grandchildren that will miss him greatly are Anthony Little, Manuel Louis (Tres) Marx III and Devynn Rourke.
