Jazzy Christmas concert at COM

TEXAS CITY - The College of the Mainland Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Sparky Koerner will perform seasonal favorites at a free concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16 in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. Selections for the Combo include Let it Snow, Silver Bells, I’ll be Home for Christmas, and Frosty the Snowman. Selections for the Jazz Ensemble include It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, Jolly Ole St. Nick, and Glenn Miller Yuletide Medley (Oh Holy Night, Joy to the World, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Deck the Halls). The latter is a great arrangement and the pieces will be performed as Glenn Miller recorded them.
