Carnes Brothers Funeral Home
GALVESTON
- Agnes Rose Buxton, 83, passed away, Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Houston Herman West Hospital in Houston, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas, at 10:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2008 with Rev. Doug Gauthier, officiating. The family will receive guests Friday, December 19, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 I-45 North, Texas City, Texas 77591.
Agnes was born September 14, 1925, in Galveston, Texas to Joseph and Edna Mae Galloway Witt. She was raised in Galveston, was a life member of GISD PTA, loved to work with arts and crafts and was a wonderful cook. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Galveston.
Preceded in death by her parents Agnes is survived by her daughter, Judy K. Elmendorf of Galveston; son, Jack J. Buxton of Austin; sisters, Edna Weist of Tyler and Maxine Anonsen of Galveston; granddaughter, Brittni Lemon; grandson Todd Schott of Galveston and sisters-in-law, Lou Patterson and Ruth Coker both of Santa Fe, Texas
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
