 Elizabeth Ann Avery “Sudder” Doty, age 74, was called home to be with her Lord. A home going celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at West Point Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas with a wake to be held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm., with the Rev. Kerry W. Tillmon presiding over the services.
“Sudder” was born November 5, 1934 in Mc Kinney, Texas to James Avery, Sr. and Henrietta Thomas Avery.
Preceeded in death by her parents, Mr. James Avery, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Murray, her husband, Harold Doty, Sr., her son, Harold Doty, Jr. and her sister, Betty Jean Robinson, “Sudder” leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters, Sheron R. Benson (Elonzo), Cynthia Doty (Gilbert) and Paulette Day (Johnny); her sons, Larry King (Theresa), Gary King (Sandra), Arthur King (Shalane); special grandaughters, Shamel, Sparkle and Chakeya King, Elonda Benson, Aaleyah King; special grandson, Jasmen and Raynold Doty; a host of grand and great grandchildren and the Averys of California.
