Michael “Mike” Norris, 66, of Nederland passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Friday, January 16, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the mortuary with a Christian Vigil at 7 pm.
Mr. Norris was a machinist and carpenter for Motiva Enterprises retiring after 40 years of service. Mike enjoyed writing poetry and especially loved his grandchildren and participating in their lives.
Mike is survived by his wife Dianne Norris of Nederland; son, Mike Norris Jr. of Nederland; daughter, Kelly DeMas and husband Chris of Nederland; grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor DeMas of Nederland; sister, Nancy Gondron of Beaumont and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Mildred Norris.
