 Joseph Richardson, Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at UTMB Hospital.
Joseph was born on March 26, 1928, in Franklin, La. He was a retired boilermaker after 39 years of service at Todd Shipyard and member of Galilee Baptist Church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Sydney and Dennis Richardson. He leaves to cherish memories, his wife, Medina Richardson; sons, Edward ; Joseph A. (Cynthia), and Samuel Richardson, Craig Bernstine, Kendall Cooper (Michelle); daughters, Martha Ann Ross; Janice Winston (RA, Jr.); Alecia Etienne (Raymond); LaShonda Richardson; LaShonda Maxey (Frederick), Shaday Bernstine, Cynthia Turner; brothers, Melvin(Francis); Wilford, and Wesley Richardson; sisters, Annie Mae Anderson; Ora Bias, Cordelia Richardson; special friends, Israel Auzenne, Jack McChristian, Mr. Mahoney; Godchildren, Michael Jackson, General Jack, Jr., Albert Kirk; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. V. Sirepina, Home Health Caregiver, Levy Charles, Sarah and Erica.
Visitation will begin at 6 PM followed by a wake from 7-8 PM on Friday, January 23rd at Avenue L Baptist Church. There will be a service celebrating the life of Joseph on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM, also at the church with Rev. Norris D. Burkley officiating. Burial will follow at Mainland Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
