Van A. “Bubba” Court, III, 60, of Galveston passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 at a Houston hospital due to complications from pneumonia. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and a private service will be held by his family at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas with Rev. Ray Pinard officiating.
Van was born December 1, 1948 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Van Albert Court, Jr. and Dorothy Mae Caulk Court. He attended Galveston public schools and graduated from Cristobal High School, Panama Canal Zone while living with his father. He loved sports and played Little League Baseball for many years, and school sports even after moving to the Canal Zone. He loved life and people.
Preceded in death by his father “Sonny” Court, his grandmother, Jean Caulk, his aunt and uncle, Katy and James “Red” Caulk, “Bubba” leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Dorothy; daughter, Kerry Daugereaux and husband, Jason; grandson, Alex Daugereaux; his precious cousins and their families, Rosanna and Jim Gibson, Paul and Melenie, Teresa and tom Pryor and Erica, Patty and David Norris, Samantha and Austin, Jeanie Grubs and Cash Owen; special friend, Yolanda Moran; other relatives and many other friends.
Many thanks to the UTMB E.R. staff and to the doctors and nurses of the ICU Unit of Memorial Herman Southeast Hospital. His care was excellent.
