Goldie Dantzler

Goldie DantzlerGoldie Dantzler, 92, received her reward of eternal rest on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center.

Goldie was born on January 21, 1917, in Crowley, LA to Anderson and Lillie Maude Wilkins Goodwill. A longtime resident of Galveston, she was a retired cook from Texas A& M Galveston campus; Shriner Burn Hospital and Gaido’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and shopping was her hobby.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George Dantzler; three brothers and three sisters.

She leaves precious memories with her devoted daughters, Maudry Christian of Galveston and Dorothy Anderson of Dickinson; five stepchildren; seven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; special nephew, Charleston Butler; devoted friends, Martha, Bertha and Tony; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, January 31st followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at Avenue L Baptist Church with her pastor, Rev. A. W. Colbert officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
