Georgia Mae Davis, 67, received her reward of eternal rest on Monday February 2, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.
Georgia was born August 1, 1941 in Navasota, TX. She attended Central High School and was loving and devoted homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Schallie Davis; mother, Ellen McNeal; daughter, Shirley McNeal; son, Donnie McMurrin; grandsons, Freddie McNeal and Noah McMurrin; sisters, Fannie Malone, Mandy Henderson and Ella Turner; brothers, Henry Venters and Ernest McNeal.
She is survived by her sons, Sam McMurrin (Shanna), James McMurrin (Cynthia), Michael Davis (Trece) and Floyd Davis; daughter Willie McMurrin (John) and Elouise Davis (Harold); 6 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren; father, Oscar Rogers; brothers, Tommie McNeal, Willie McNeal (Alice) and Charles McNeal (Linda); sisters, Sharon Williams-Fields (Lionel); devoted niece, Ellen “Tiny” Gonzales (Cedric) very devoted granddaughters, Charmaine Fontenot and Samantha McMurrin; extended family, Rev and Mrs. Fontenot and K. Stringbean; and a host nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 4 PM on today February 6th followed by a wake from 7-8 PM at the Community Church, 801 29th Street, Texas City. Homegoing service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 12 Noon also at the church with Rev. Vincent Fontenot and Rev. Harold Block officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
