William "East Powder" Warden departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster.
William was born December 18, 1941, in Galveston, TX. He attended public school in Galveston and was a 1959 graduate of Central High School. He accepted Christ as a child and was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church and later worshiped at Gospel Baptist Church. A retired merchant marine; he was formerly employed with the Mayflower Moving Co., Jeff Cab Co. and TXDOT Ferry System. He also coached and sponsored the Seahawk.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joetta Fox- Warden; and parents Albert and Lucille Warden.
He leaves precious memories with his children: Bonnie Fox-Williams; Michael Fox, Sr.; Cheryl Fox; Earl Dotson, Jr. and Corey Dotson; grandchildren; Broderick; Courtney, and Brandon Fox; Michotisha; Anjelicia, and DeJon Thomas; nine great grandchildren; cousins: Betty Lewis; Olivia Lewis; lifelong friends: Dee Ward; Barbara Martin; God son: Dee Ward, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Avenue L Baptist Church with Rev. Nathaniel Brown eulogist, Rev A. W. Colbert officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
