Juanita Louise BarryJuanita Louise Barry, 92, passed away in Austin on February 7, 2009.  She was born in Galveston on February 20, 1916, where she lived for most of her life.  In her early years, she was with American National Insurance Co. and, later, with the Santa Fe Railroad in Galveston and Topeka, KS until her retirement.  Once retired, she stayed in Topeka for 10 more years before returning to Galveston to be closer to family.  She lived in Galveston until September 2008, when she was evacuated to Austin where three nieces live.

Her brothers Robert H. Barry, Jr., Patrick J. Barry, and Thomas J. Barry, and sister-in-law Mary Barry preceded her in death. Her sister Margaret E. Barry, sisters-in-law Edith Barry and Delores Barry, and many nieces and nephews survive her.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Judy Johnson, Ericka Arthur, and Rita Rhines who took expert and loving care of her while she resided in the Concord Home in Galveston.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galveston.  Following the Mass, graveside services will be held in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.
