Alma Bernice DePingre
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Alma Bernice DePingre, age 89, of Galveston went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Conroe Regional Medical Center in Conroe, Texas. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Houston National Cemetery Chapel in Houston. Burial will follow services at the cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas 77550.

Alma was born September 7, 1919 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Redrick Bernard Godwin and Ida Odessa Cash Godwin. She was a Librarian with the Houston Public Library System retiring with over 25 years of service. Alma was a kind and generous lady who loved her family and served the Lord in the Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her husband of 59 years, Clarence Edward DePingre; daughter, Diana Carol Brown and husband Roger of Lawton, Oklahoma; son, Garry Dean DePingre and wife Joani of Galveston; granddaughter, Jennifer Susan Conway and husband Bradley of New York; other relatives and many friends.
