Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to order an election on May 9 for Council Positions Two and Four, which are currently held by Helen Beckman and Felicia Kyle, respectively.

The city council voted unanimously to deny a zoning change request for 26.34 acres in the area of State Highway 35 and McHard Road from Heavy Industrial to a Planned Development. The request was made by Montalbano Lumber Company.

The city council voted unanimously to consent to the creation of Country Place Management District.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the second reading of an ordinance renaming Spectrum Boulevard as Waterlights Parkway.

The city council voted unanimously to direct the city attorney to take action discussed concerning potential litigation for code violations and with Othon, Inc. The items were discussed during an executive session.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the first reading of a zoning change request for 6.59 acres of land located at 1871 Mykawa Road from Heavy Industrial to a Planned Development. The request was made for Third Coast Packaging.
