Evelyn Joyce Harvey- Sellers

Evelyn Joyce Harvey- SellersOn February 5, 2009, Evelyn Joyce Harvey- Sellers received her reward of eternal rest. She was born on November 25, 1957 to the union of Rosa Lee Batiste and Roosevelt Harvey in Galveston, Texas. She attended public schools in Galveston, and graduated from Ball High School in 1976. She later attended Galveston College where she earned her Surgical Technician license and gained employment with UTMB.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Amos and Alice Batiste; Johnnie and Rosie Harvey, Sr.; her father, Roosevelt Harvey, Sr.; step-father, Willie Brown; aunt and uncle, Jessie and Leon Edwards; dear cousin, Delma Allen- Harris; uncles, Frank Harvey, and Johnnie Harvey, Jr.; and aunt ,Lois Freeman.

To carry on her memory, Evelyn leaves her mother Rosa Lee Brown; her husband Harold Sellers; her mother in law, Pinkie Sellers; all of Galveston; her aunt, Ollie Johnson; uncle, Archie Harvey, Sr.; both of Texas City. She also leaves behind her oldest daughter, Jada Harvey- Powell (Guy); daughter, Shamerian Harvey; only son, Walter Harvey; her sisters, Estelle Harvey (Kevin), Elvie Allen (Steven), Linda Gipson (Charles), and Rosie Pearl Harvey; her brothers, Michael Batiste (Sean), Eugene Harvey (Wanda), Roosevelt Harvey, Jr., Gomer, and Kenneth Gipson; devoted nieces and nephews, Merian "Piggy" Harvey, Kymberly Harvey, Christina Wiley, Donald Baziel III, Christopher Baziel, and Zhana Allen; her grandchildren, Russell Evans, Jr., Joseph Williams III, Camryn Powell, Ayden Williams, Christian, Chase, and Cayne Harvey; special cousins, Frances and Nancy Allen; dear and devoted cousin, Joyce Ann Esther; loving and long time friends, Jackie Salters, Carolyn Davis, and Anita Bailey, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

Evelyn was loved by many, and although she is gone from this earth, her spirit lives on in all of us. We would like to thank the Galveston Police Department, the District Attorney's Office, E.R. Johnson and family.

A services of remembrance will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Avenue L Baptist Church with Rev. Otha Ross officiating.
