Jennifer Ann JonesJennifer Ann Jones, affectionately known as "Dodie", 51, of Galveston, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2009.

Jennifer was born January 2, 1958, to the late Arthur Lee Harris and Vivian Ella Jones. She attended Galveston public schools, and went on to excel in the field of Culinary Arts. Jennifer worked as a cook for many restaurants and establishments throughout Galveston, and retired from the Hilton Hotel after many years of dedicated service. She was a loving, dedicated, caring and generous mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. To know her was to love her

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Robert and Margaret Jones; special daddy, Frank W. Jackson; precious great niece, Kendolynn Phillips; nephew, Sherman Dewayne Jones; and brother in law, Kendolyn Howard III.

Left to cherish the precious memories of her life are her daughters: Tracy Jones, and Faydra Jones; mother: Vivian Ella Jones; grandchildren: Aundre "Poodie" Jones; Nakia Jones-Quintana; Kiela Gitrey; Quentinae Wade; Gregory "Duke" Rollins; sisters: Eileen Jones; Arthurine Jones; Mary Evans (Donald) of Fresno, TX, and Cynthia Howard; brothers: Tyrone Jones (Clotida): Eric Jones (LaTosha) of San Bernadine, CA; Daniel Jones, and Woodrow Jones (Freddie) of Crockett, TX; special grandchild: Brandon Francis; Godmother and aunt, Ida Bell Marshall; very devoted friend, Gloria Tolden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM and a service celebrating her life will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Avenue L Baptist Church with Pastor E. R. Johnson officiating.
