Lester Ivo Jackson, Jr.

September 21, 1935 – February 13, 2009


Lester Ivo Jackson, Jr.Galveston Island has lost a long time resident, celebrated citizen, respected officer and dance legend.  Friday, February 13, Lester Jackson, 73, left his earthly home and ascended to his greatest dance contest in Heaven. 

He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Wayne Jackson and mother, Emma Rose Jackson. 

He is survived by many family members and friends:  His favorite ex wife, Nanci Jackson; His children: son, Jay Jackson and wife Kelly; daughter, Becky Christesson and husband Keithan; daughter, Leslie Driskill; daughter, Meka Bowling & husband Mike.  Stepsons, Lonny Hooks and Scott Hooks and wife Mandy, Grandchildren, Joshua Jackson, Jay Brandon Jackson, Kyle Jackson, Nicholas Christesson, Caleb Christesson, Alayna Hamming, Britt Hidalgo, Jordan Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Ashley Hooks, Paige Hooks, Bubba Brown, Diamond Brown and Great Grandchildren, Aiden Hamming, Payton Jackson,  Kendall Jackson, Cooper Jackson.


A memorial service will be held in his honor at the San Luis Hotel on Monday, February 16th, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  All friends, family and acquaintances are welcomed to come & share memories, stories and condolences.   Mr. Jackson’s body will later be cremated and laid to rest in The Veterans Cemetery in Houston with family holding a private ceremony.
