Jessie J. Lockridge, Jr., 91, received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the Laurel House in La Marque.
Jessie was born January 1, 1918, in Palestine, TX to Jessie, Sr. and Mevina Weaver Lockridge. He attended public school in Palestine and was a retired plant manager and self employed plumber. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fannie Lockridge; daughter Nora Lockridge; five brother, and three sisters.
He is survived by his son, Jessie Smith of Galveston; daughter: Barbara Fay Lockridge of Houston; two sisters Mary Eliza Hughes of Palestine and Johnnie B Miles of Longview, TX; host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Viewing will begin today February 20th at 10 AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM at Avenue L Baptist Church with Rev. E. R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
