Karon Kay King
Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Karon Kay KingKaron Kay King, 50, passed away February 17, 2009 at her home in League City, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 23, 2009 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont,  Galveston, Texas with Dr. Ray Meador officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas. The family will receive visitors Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Karon was born November 5, 1958 in Crockett, Texas, to Jack Howard King and Martha Ann Jones King. She attended school in Crockett until her family moved to Galveston. Karon graduated from Ball High School with the Class of 1977 and was a member of the of First Baptist Church of Galveston.  She loved to work in her yard. By trade, Karon was a floral designer however, her family being candy makers, she was manager of La King’s Confectionery in Galveston.       

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. I. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy King and infant twin sister, Sharon Fay King. Karon is survived by her parents, Jack and Martha King of Galveston; brothers, Jeffrey Howard King and Mitch King, both of Galveston; long time friend, Steve Montemayor of League City; aunt, Barbara Dickerson and husband, David of Anchorage, Alaska; uncles, Irving and wife, Carol Jones of Corpus Christi and Larry and wife, Diane King of Huntsville; nephew, Jeffrey Mitchell King, the joy of her life and many relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Kelso, Robert Bastien, John Tindel, Matt Schlageter, Dominike Nowell and Jeffrey King.
