On this, the last day of Mardi Gras 2009, large crowds gathered downtown for the final festivities. Vendors and patrons alike were “passing a good time”.
Floyd Marceaux, program director, said this was a very successful year for the 17th annual Mardi Gras for Port Arthur.
This is truly a family-oriented event and according to one Port Arthur police officer, there had been zero problems.
