Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Mary Margaret AlfaroMary Margaret Alfaro, age 42, of Galveston went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster,Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 27, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galveston with Father John Paul Flajole, OFM celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm.

Mary was born September 30, 1966 in Galveston, Texas to Charles Fuentes, Sr. and Mary Lou Martinez Fuentes. She was a 1984 graduate of Ball High School and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mary was ill for the past 7 years, but she still remained strong through all the struggles so she could be here for her children. She was a mother who truely exhibited unconditional love for everyone, especially her children, whom she loved with all her heart. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to the care of her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her father, Charles Fuentes, Sr. survivors include her husband, Jorge Alberto Alfaro, Sr., sons, Jorge A. Alfaro, Jr., Lorenzo Antonio Alfaro, and Nico Andres Alfaro; mother, Mary Lou Fuentes; sister, Rene Fuentes and husband Carlos Valdes; brother, Charles Fuentes, Jr. all of Galveston; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers are Albert Alfaro, Rosendo Alfaro, Jesse O’Connor, Charles Fuentes, III, Jorge Alfaro, Jr., Lorenzo Alfaro, and Carlos Valdes.
