PRINCIPAL SELECTED FOR EDUCATION VILLAGE HIGH SCHOOL
Campus Set to Open Fall 2010 

League City –Clear Creek ISD’s newest high school will be led by a homegrown principal. Karen Engle is a product of CCISD and a principal for six years. On Monday, February 23, 2009, the Board of Trustees approved her selection as principal for the Education Village High School.
 
The yet to be named campus is set to open in the fall of 2010. It will be part of the first Education Village to be built in the State of Texas. It features three schools on one campus on Highway 96 near Highway 146. Sandra Mossman Elementary School will open in the fall of 2009 while the intermediate campus will open its doors in 2010.
 
Karen Engle served as principal of Clear Lake City Elementary School (2005 - 2007) where she herself was a student the year it opened. She is currently principal of Clear View Education Center which was once Webster Intermediate School where Engle attended 6, 7 and 8th grades. She is a graduate of
Clear Lake High School.
 
Under her leadership, Clear View, a charter school for academic success, achieved a Recognized Rating from The Texas Education Agency for the first time. During her tenure at Clear Lake City Elementary the campus received its first Exemplary Rating in the school's history.

"Ms. Engle is a very effective student-centered principal who embraces accountability," said CCISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Greg Smith, “She has done an outstanding job at Clear View Education Center and we are honored to have her lead the way at our future high school." Engle has a Bachelors Degree in Education (Secondary) from Baylor University, a Masters Degree in Higher Education/ Business from the University of Houston Clear Lake and holds a mid-Management Certification (UHCL).
