Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Carl Louis SchillingCarl Louis Schilling, age 70, of Galveston died, Monday, April 6, 2009 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston with Father Doug Guithier, officiating. Burial will follow at the New City Cemetery located in the 40th to 43rd blocks of Broadway. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Tuesday.

Carl was born January 13, 1939 in Galveston, Texas to Theodore Carl “Pop” Schilling and Elizabeth Johnson Schilling. Carl was a 1957 graduate of Ball High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Carl was a member of the B.P.O.E. # 126, the Veterans of Foreign War #880 and the American Legion Post 20. He enjoyed shopping at the CVS on 25th and visiting with his friends. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammie L. Seiter and husband David of Westminster, Colorado; sons, Tim L. Schilling and wife Sherlyn of Galveston, Thomas L. Schilling of Westminster, Colorado, Tony L. Schilling and wife, 2nd Lt. Judit Kiss, USAF, of Langley AFB, Virginia; brother, Gary Schilling and wife Lyn of League City; grandchildren, Marissa Seiter, Jacob Seiter, Madison Seiter, Tyche’ Cooke Schilling, and MacKenzie Cooke Schilling; former wife and close friend, Louise Schilling of Westminster, Colorado; numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Gray, Ramiro Sylva, Jr., William David Copado, Henry Torres, Manuel Trevino, Chuck Anderson, Tim Harkins, and Miguel Pompa. Honorary pallbearers are Paul David McCartney, Albert Trevino, Paul Rougeau, Kurt Knebel, John Driess, and Ruben Garcia.
