LA MARQUE — Jack W. Nash, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in La Marque, Texas. He was born May 30, 1927, in Mishawaka, Indiana to Lawrence and Treva Gay Brugh Nash. Jack served in the Merchant Marines. He was president of the Noon Optimist Club in La Marque, a member of First Christian Church in La Marque and taught at Lovenberg Jr. High in Galveston. Mr. Nash lived in La Marque since 1946, he served as Mayor of La Marque from 1983 to 1987 and prior to being Mayor he served as a City Councilman for eleven years.

Jack is survived by his wife Virginia Ann Kirkpatrick Nash, whom he married on July 19, 1947; his daughter Kathryn Ann Loving and husband George of La Marque, Texas; son Larry Allan Nash and wife Shirley of El Cajon, California; sisters Barbara Jean Gould and husband Roy of La Marque, Texas, Carol Sue Hutchins and husband Charles of Liberty, Texas, Nancy Lee Waggoner of Rosenberg, Texas, Phyllis Ann Gray and husband Gerald of Bullard, Texas; brother Robert Earl Nash of Elk Grove, California; grandsons Robert Allan Loving and wife Sandy, Michael Wayne Loving and wife Jennifer, Jay Denton Nash and Mitch Miranda, Joel Allan Nash; great grandchildren Cody Loving, Michael Loving, Kaitlyn Loving, Devon Ewald, Kevin White, Beau Loving, Hailey Loving.

His visitation will be on Monday, April 13, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas and his Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of La Marque, Texas with Pastor Rex Teter officiating.
