Diane Marie Celestine Nelson

Diane Marie Celestine NelsonDiane Marie Celestine Nelson, 64, received her reward of eternal rest on Friday, April 24, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

Diane was born August 1, 1944 in Galveston. She attended school in Galveston and later moved to California, before returning to Galveston. She was a avid elephant collector, and enjoyed listening to music, crocheting and spending time with her church family where she made many friends. She had a great love for the church.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Celestine and Doris Barrett; husband: Carl Nelson; sister: Cheryl Young; nephew: LeKeeth Sharp; aunt and uncle: Freddie “Wessie” and A.J. Williams, Sr..

Left with precious memories is her son, Johnny Vernon Celestine; sister: Rosa Celestine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Monday, May 4th, and a service celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Pastors Reginald and Salatheia Honors officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
