Yvonne Erin SchreiberYvonne Erin Schreiber, 75, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Cornerstone Hospital in Webster.

Yvonne’s family will receive visitors beginning at 9:45 am on Tuesday, May 12th, at Sacred Heart Church.  A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am, led by Father Niall Nolan, Celebrant.

Yvonne was born July 18, 1933, in Galveston, Texas.  She graduated from Dominican High School and worked for many years to support her two children.  She was a talented candy maker, especially known for her pralines, and Yvonne also loved to read, knit, and shop.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace T. and Bessie Muller Taylor; her sister, Bessylea Mosso; and her aunt, Edith Bohn.

She is survived by her husband, John Schreiber, of Galveston; son, Phil Carey, Jr. and wife, Claudia, of Hutto, TX; daughter, Erin Kleinecke and husband, Bobby, of Bryan, TX; sister-in-law, Maurine Waters, of Texas City, TX; grandchildren: James Kleinecke and wife, Candice; Elizabeth Kopil and husband, Matthew; and Christine Kleinecke, all of Bryan, TX; great grandchildren: Landon and Hadley Kleinecke and Kadielyn Kopil, all of Bryan; dear friend, Adelaide Savage, of Galveston; and numerous nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Kleinecke, James Kleinecke, and Matt Kopil.

Yvonne’s family wishes to thank the staff at Oceanview Transitional Care Center; Mainland Medical Center and ICU; Cornerstone Hospital and ICU; and Drs. Robin Armstrong and Lee Emory for the professional and compassionate care given to Yvonne.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
