Pearland City Council

Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to hire David Whitaker as a building official for the city.

The item was discussed in executive session before Whitaker was named for the position.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Florida Dotson and Christian Corl to the Pearland Municipal Management District No. 1 Board of Directors.

The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Fred Welch, Ron Dagley, Cullum Heard and Darrell W. Jordan, Jr. to the Spectrum Management District Board of Directors. The item had been tabled at a previous meeting of the city council.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a settlement in pending litigation associated with the Blue Ridge Landfill. The item was discussed in executive session.

The city council took no action on a contract for engineering and architectural services associated with the Hillhouse Service Center Project. The item had been tabled at a previous meeting. It will be considered during a future meeting.

The city council took no action on appointments to the Pearland Economic Development Corporation.

The city council took no action regarding economic development incentives.

The city council took no action regarding the city manger's 2009-2010 annual goals.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Steve Saboe was absent. Agenda
