Ethel Mae Dickard

Ethel Mae (Caro) DickardEthel Mae (Caro) Dickard passed away on May 30.  She was born on April 12, 1925 in Galveston where she lived her whole life.  She worked for years for the federal government at Ellington Air Force Base and retired on April 10, 1991 from the Army Corps of Engineers in Galveston.  She also had owned a court reporting transcribing business serving the Galveston/Houston areas.


She was survived by her sister Edith Rogers, her daughters Sylvia and Roxanne (and husband Frank), grandchildren Michelle, Sheila, Corinne, and Brian, great granddaughter Theresa, as well as many nieces and nephews.


Ethel was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica in Galveston and was a lector and Eucharistic minister there for many years and formerly at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 880.  


Ethel’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Thursday, June 4th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, led by Deacon John Pistone.


Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 5th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Paul Flajole as Celebrant.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson.


Pallbearers will be Andy Hernandez, Rob Brown, Hudson Caro III, John Paul Caro, and Frank Green III.
