2009 Freedom Days
City of Friendswood Fourth of July Celebration
News Release
Wednesday, June 03, 2009

The City of Friendswood is preparing for the 114th annual Fourth of July Celebration scheduled for Saturday, July 4th in Friendswood Texas. The day begins with the Grand Parade down Friendswood Drive and ends with the evening program and Fireworks Extravaganza that is held at Centennial Park. This celebration is considered one of the longest consecutive running Fourth of July Celebrations in Texas.  The theme for the 2009 celebration is "Family, Friends and Friendswood, a Standing Tradition".

At this time, the City is accepting parade and booth applications to be processed by the Fourth of July Steering Committee.  All parade entries are to be decorated according to the theme and/or with the colors red, white and blue. The use of music in all entries is encouraged to help make the parade more enjoyable for participants and spectators alike.  Entry forms are due by June 22, 2009.

For more information, please contact the City of Friendswood Community Services Department at 281-996-3220.
