Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to authorize participation in the Other Victim Assistance Grant through the Office of the Attorney General.

According to the Texas Attorney General's web site, "the purpose of the Office of the Attorney General Other Victim Assistance Grant program is to provide funds, using a competitive allocation method, to programs that address the unmet needs of victims by maintaining or increasing their access to quality services". The grant requires no matching funds.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize a real estate transaction by the Board of Directors of the Central Appraisal District of Fort Bend County.

The city council tabled action on authorizing the annexation of 65 acres of land by Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 141.

The city council took no action on a contract for engineering and architectural design services for the Hillhouse Service Center Project. The item was tabled at a previous meeting of the city council.

The city council tabled the first reading of a zoning change request for approximately .5716 acres of land located in the area of 2501 Francis Drive and 4807 Broadway from Single Family Residential to a General Business District at the request of Brazoria County Drainage District No. 4.

The city council took no action regarding economic development incentives. The item was discussed in executive session.

The city council took no action regarding the city manager's 2009-2010 annual goals. The item was discussed in executive session.

The city council also discussed in executive session the sale, lease, purchase or exchange of property regarding city facilities. No action was taken on the item.
