Sandra (Sandy) Ybarra JonesSandra (Sandy) Ybarra Jones – Galveston – passed away, Thursday July 2, 2009 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Father John Paul Flajole, OFM celebrant. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.

Sandra is preceded in death by her brother Ricky Ybarra, her grandparents – Juan and Juana Perez, Estella Esqueda,   Aunts Maggie Gutierrez, Ernestina Gonzalez and Martha Perez and Uncle Jesse Garza.

She is survived by her daughter Kirstie Jones, Fiance Raymond Orozco, Children Rachel Orozco, Joshua Orozco, Raymond Orozco Jr, Granddaughter Victoria Orozco, Parents Gavina Perez Ybarra and Henry Ybarra, In-laws Ramon and Antonia Orozco, Sister Debra Ybarra, Brother Alex Ybarra, Alex’s wife Terry, Nephews Ricky Angelo Ybarra and Joshua Ybarra, Niece Stephanie Banuelos, Brother Fernando Ybarra, Fernando’s Fiance Sarah and son Michael and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and close friends who will miss her dearly. She graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, TX and was loved by all the children she worked with at the First Presbyterian Church East End Daycare Center in Galveston. She also was a Mary Kay Consultant with her good friend Laurie Gorham for the Galveston area and loved to make her customers feel beautiful. She enjoyed scrapbooking and sewing in her spare time.  Her biggest joys were being with family and having a good time. Her smile lit up the room when she walked in. That smile will shine in heaven as she meets her heavenly King our Lord. We will miss her but we know she is in good hands and will hold her in our hearts forever.

Pall Bearers will be Tony Venegas, Ralph Perez Jr., Gary Gutierrez, Ofc Orlando Gutierrez, Sammy Gonzalez, Ofc. Gerardo Gonzalez, Richard Ortiz Jr. , Ed Jackson. Honorary Pall Bearers  - David Diaz, Christopher Martinez, TJ Serenil, Carlos Aguirre Jr., Steven Carpenter, Jason Gorham and Officers of the Galveston Police Dept. 

Our special thanks go to the EMS of Galveston , TX, Galveston Fire Dept for their response and the staff at Clear Lake Regional Hospital for the care they took with our Sandy. A special thanks to the Galveston Police Department for their love and support during Sandy’s life as well as their concern for one of their own – Sgt. Raymond Orozco during Sandy’s passing.
