Joyce Marie Gardner

Joyce Marie Gardner, 76, received her reward of eternal rest on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her residence.
Joyce was born December 18, 1932, in Galveston, Texas to Windell and Emily Guidry. She was a retired psychiatric nurse from UTMB, and was a very committed employee for over 37 years and also was active in several women's charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buster Gardner; brothers, Don Winfred and Steve Guidry; daughter, Valarie Mumford; devoted companion, Leonard "Jack" Garner.
She leaves precious memories with her son: Willie B Thompson; daughter: Sandra Rougeau and husband, Uylice; devoted grandchildren: Roy Holmes IV; Wendell Rougeau (Angela); Ervin Parish (Barbara); Jamillia and Shamariah Mumford; sisters: Mary Ann Williams; numerous nephews nieces, other relatives and friends
Visitation will be held today, July 9th, from 4-7 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM led by Deacon Henry Herra A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2009, at St Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Bok as celebrant. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
