On October 17, 1983 a gift from God was born to Barbara Mason and Alton Jones, in Galveston, Texas.  She was a graduate of Ball High School in 2002. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Galveston; she also attended and was active at St. John Baptist Church. She was employed at Popeye’s Chicken. 

Bowdey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roosevelt and Dorothy Mason, Alton Jones, Sr. and Dorothy Artmore; Aunt, Linda Artmore; uncle, Ray Allen Jones; neices, Angel Washington; cousin, Kelcee Mason.  

Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Barbara Mason and Alton Jones; grandparents, Margaret (Mickey) Mason, Hazel Lewis, Nathan and Mary Deas; siblings, Alex "Bo Leg", and Kenneth "Fuddy" Johnson, Jr., MyKeria Wyatt, Quinten Dominick, Heavenly Mason, Brandie Horne, Krystal, Mohagony, Alton III, and Deshanda Jones, Wesley, Jr., and Jerome Dominick, Courtney Davis; aunts; Jacqueline Vallery, Charlotte, LaKisha and Stephanie Mason, Jerri Felton, Darla Carter- Ford, Brenda and, Hannah Jones; uncles; Christopher, Rondre, Terrence, Nathan Lewis, Wallace and Gerald Jones; great aunts, Rose Cadet, Cleo Washington, Ivory Anderson, Hazel Mason, Sarah Mays, Dietrich Simmons; Godparents, Carla and Eric Tipps; special friends, Donisha Thomas, Sherry Woods, Courtney Mc Williams, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on today, July 17th followed by a wake from 6- 8 pm, at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary.  A home going celebration will be on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Avenue L Baptist Church, Rev. E R Johnson, pastor and Rev. Kenneth Guidry officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
