Amador Briones 80 of Galveston died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his residence.
A Rosary will be recited 6 P.M. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. The family will receive visitors from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday, August 2, 2009 also at the funeral home.
Mr Briones was born April 30, 1929 in Evansville, Texas to Ladeslado and Dolores Briones where he was raised until he moved to Galveston in the 1940’s where he worked for the Southern Pacific and Galveston Wharves Railroad for 40 years. He also enjoyed being with his family and spending time fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Maria Briones; sons, Amador C. Briones and wife Susana of Santa Fe, Ernest Briones, Sr of Galveston, Fernando Briones and wife Cheryl of Marathon, Florida, Armando Briones and wife Cheryl of Galveston and Ernest Briones, Jr. and wife Katrina of Galveston.; daughters Maria Rios and husband Jesse of Galveston and Lonjina Hernandez and husband Julio of Galveston. Numerous Grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister Nora Revilla and husband Margarito of Galveston; special niece Mary Robles of Galveston.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Care Team for the special care and attention shown to Mr. Briones during this difficult time.
