Mary Angela (Angie) PerussinaMary Angela (Angie) Perussina, 82, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Manor Care Center in Webster, TX.


A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 8th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Bok, OFM, as Celebrant.


Angie was born May 2, 1927, in Galveston, TX.  She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree of Library Science from TWU in Denton, TX.  Angie taught at GISD and Temple School District after teaching in France for the US Air Force.  She was the first Galveston College Librarian and also worked at the UTMB Medical Library, the Rosenberg Library, and the O’Connell High School Library.  Angie also was a member of several Women’s Business Organizations.  She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and socializing with her family and friends.


Angie is preceded in death by her mother, Julia Curran Perussina; and father, George Perussina.


She is survived by her sisters, Rose Zapp and Marguerite Parsley.


Angie’s family would like to thank her beloved caretaker and niece, Heather Anderson.
