Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Ernest Charles LopezErnest Charles Lopez, 30, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center.

 

His family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Friday, August 7th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will conclude the evening at 6:30 pm.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 8th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Deacon Henry Herrera officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

Ernest was born May 15, 1979, in Galveston, TX.  He was a dedicated employee of Dienst Distributing Company for 7 ½ years and enjoyed representing his company at special events such as Mardi Gras Galveston.  Ernest was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and had a passion for music and dancing.  His heart belonged to his family, and he never passed up a chance to spend time with those he loved.  His devotion to his father made Ernest an especially amazing son.  He will always be remembered as a humorous, fun-loving guy.  Ernest was of Catholic faith and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.

 

Ernest was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Anna Lopez; grandfathers, Luis Lopez and Sam Sapsky; and grandmothers, Victoria Vassallo and Mamie Lopez.

 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jo Dodson Lopez; father, Ernest Lopez; sister, Antoinette Dunn; brother, John D. Lopez; very special nieces: Zianna Dunn and twin nieces, Savannah and Mackenzee Lopez; aunts, Lupe Aguilar and husband, Tony; Frances Linton and husband, Gene; great aunt, Jean Nieves; and numerous other relatives and friends.

 

Pallbearers will be Charles T. Linton, Eric Mussman, Pancho Romero, Tomas Ramirez, Derrick Grant, and James Honsinger.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Ruiz, Juan Martinez, Carlos Dorantes, and Fabian Hernandez.

 

Memorials in Ernest’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
