Harriet Franklin Morgan

Harriet Franklin MorganHarriet Franklin Morgan, 82, received her reward of eternal rest on August 5, 2009, at her residence with her devoted children by her side.

Harriet was born January 26, 1927, in Brazoria, Texas to Lemon J. and Palais Henderson Franklin. She attended public school in Angleton, and later moved to Galveston and was 1945 graduate of Central High School. She began her employment at the Woodland High School, then later at the Little Lamb Day Care and eventually open a daycare in her home.

She was a member of Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board #2, Lydia Circle and with the Sunday School. She also held membership with the Sweet Esther CT #327 Heroines of Jericho and co- founder of Anderson St. Neighborhood Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charlie C. Morgan; brothers: Lemon Jr., James, and Robert Franklin; sister: Mary Hudson; great grandchild: Brooke Bennett.

She leaves cherished memories with her children, Ramsey Franklin (Barbara), BeBe Bennett and Lori Morgan Richardson; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie Beckworth, Leola Miller and Thelma Higgins (Stratton); brothers: William, Lemon Jerry (Rubye Le) and Daniel Franklin; sister in-law: Helen Franklin; devoted adopted children: Leonard and Mary Nell Davis, Carolyn Caligone, Dennis Strange and Richard Irving; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15th beginning at 10 AM, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at the Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
