Leti Lorena Diaz DeLeonLeti Lorena Diaz DeLeon age 28 of Galveston passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at her residence in Galveston. Funeral services are 10:00am Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with Reverend David Gomez officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.

Leti was born August 17, 1981 in Galveston, Texas to Joel B. Diaz DeLeon and Isabel Cristina Montalvo Diaz DeLeon. She was a 2000 graduate of Ball High School and was employed as a care giver with the YMCA. She was a member of New Life Fellowship Church formerly, Monte Calvario Church. She was a great artist able to draw and paint. She enjoyed working with pottery, arts and crafts and she dearly loved the children she gave care to at the YMCA. She was a great daughter and aunt. She pitched in and helped her father restore the family business after hurricane Ike, She really loved Samantha and Krystal and enjoyed taking them and all the nieces and nephews skating and to the beach. She was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved to ride her red motorcycle. She was a people person who truly loved to help other people.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, survivors include her parents, Joel and Isabel Diaz DeLeon of Galveston; sister, Priscila Ayala and husband Mark of Houston, Texas; brother, Isaac Diaz DeLeon and wife Mae of Galveston; sisters, Samantha Marie Scurry and Krystal Lynn Scurry both of Galveston; niece and nephew, Isabel and Mark Ayala of Houston; and nieces and nephew, Mollie, Eleanor and Devin Diaz DeLeon of Galveston; other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are friends of Leti.
